Dear Taiaiako’n—Parkdale—High Park,

When my family and I moved to Canada, the community of Parkdale—High Park welcomed us with open arms. The kindness of our neighbours and the support from services in the community helped us rebuild our lives. The most powerful gift we received was a sense of belonging and hope for a secure future.

I always knew that my life was going to be about service—to community and to Canada. To give back to the people and the country I love and the place we chose to call home. To make sure we always keep up the spirit of a strong and compassionate Canada.

Our country is at a crossroads.

What we decide to do next will shape all our lives for a long time.

It is not the time to simply accept things the way they are or cross our fingers that things will get better.

It is a time to stand up and make the changes we want to see happen.

We must refuse the politics of cynicism and division. We must care for each other, not lose our sense of humanity. We must build a Canada where everyone, especially young people, can feel that our future is bright and secure. We must build a Canada where everyone has the opportunity to live fulfilling lives. We all deserve that future.

I believe that the next big fight we face is at the national level. The Liberals let us down, and made us vulnerable to Conservative cuts.

That’s why I am running to be your NDP candidate and the next Member of Parliament for Taiaiako’n—Parkdale—High Park.

I’m asking our community to come together with me, to do better right here and across the country. I will continue to proudly represent our community provincially until an election is called.

You’ve placed your trust in me before. Together, we have achieved a lot for our community provincially—from saving the Ontario Food Terminal, securing funding during the height of COVID outbreak at Copernicus Lodge, delivering on capital grant projects at High Park Nature Centre and High Park Zoo, and making Ontario the first jurisdiction in the world to mark Tibetan Heritage Month.

At every step, we have held the government accountable and secured collective victories on the Greenbelt, support for education workers and kids, and so much more. We have never wavered in working to make our community and country a better place.

I ask that you continue to place your trust in me. Together, we can deliver change and restore hope for all.
